Kitscoty RCMP make armed robbery arrest

Kitscoty RCMP say they have a man in custody in connection with an armed robbery.

In the evening on March 26th, police were called to an assault at a rural business west of Lloydminster. After interrupting the suspect, who was allegedly trying to break into a C-Can, the male victim was beaten with a metal pole. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect allegedly left the scene in a truck, which police were later able to recover.

As a result, Troy Wayne MacDonald of Onion Lake was arrested March 31st. He is accused of aggravated assault, armed robbery and driving while disqualified.

MacDonald has been released with conditions and will appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on July 14th, 2020.
