Seventeen recoveries, nine new COVID cases in Saskatchewan

The Government of Saskatchewan is reporting several more recoveries from COVID-19.

Across the province, there have been 298 reported cases of COVID-19, 130 of which are considered “active.” In total, Saskatchewan has marked 164 total recoveries. Seventeen have recovered in the last 24 hours, seven cases have been confirmed, and two are presumptive. There are seven people in hospital all receiving inpatient care. No one is in intensive care.

In the North Zone, which houses the Lloydminster area, there are 19 cases and 36 recoveries.

At the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory, SHA has introduced a new testing machine. The first 10 positive specimens identified by the new machine must be considered presumptive positives and need confirmation using the RRPL’s existing machine. Testing has also begun in Meadow Lake. Cases tested here will also be presumed positive until the second test has been done.

Across the province, 19,276 COVID-19 tests have been performed, with 18,206 negative results.
