City crews working on pothole, frost heave repairs

The City is urging drivers to be cautious and patient as road work season begins.

As the warmer weather hits Lloydminster, the City’s Roadway Services team has begun inspecting roads and alleys, identifying problem areas for potholes and frost heaves. This year, they say, there is an above-average number of areas needing repair.

Director of Transportation Services Dave Henning says in a release that drivers should be extra cautious as several road crews will be out working on a priority basis, and that residents should continue to report problem areas.

Areas affected by frost heaves will have a more invasive process to repair. Crews must dig down to the subsoil beneath the roadway, resulting in temporary lane closures or detour routes.

Residents can report an issue on the City’s website.
