Battlefords RCMP arrest three people after shots fired at hotel

Battlefords RCMP have arrested three people in connection to reports of shots being fired early this morning.
Mounties were called to a hotel on the 1000 block of the Highway 16 bypass at about 3 a.m. Police did not find any suspects on the scene but surveillance footage showed someone in a silver car firing towards a white SUV.
RCMP found the SUV while responding a stabbing call at a gas station on the 900 block of the Highway 16 bypass at around 4 a.m. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for impaired driving and RCMP did not find anyone who had been stabbed.
Later that morning, approximately 6 a.m., police received a report of a silver car parked on Trudeau Street and a man waving a gun around. RCMP say they responded immediately and tried to stop the car but were unable to. Officers chased the car which lost control after driving over an embankment.
Two men ran away from the vehicle and were both arrested and taken into custody.
RCMP believe the shots fired were not random and have direct ties to drug trafficking. All suspects are in custody and will appear in court on April 29. Charges are pending as the investigation is still ongoing.
