Almost three quarters of COVID-19 cases in Alberta have recovered

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says Albertans are successfully flattening the curve as fewer new daily COVID-19 cases are being confirmed.

In Alberta, there has been a total of 6,300 cases with 4,659 of them listed as recovered and 1,524 considered as active cases.

Another 47 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed as well as two more deaths in Alberta.

One death was recorded in the North zone while the other involved a worker at the Cargill meat processing plant in High River. There have been 119 deaths in relation to COVID-19 in the province.

There were no new cases in the Central zone keeping the total number of cases in the zone at 99. There are two active cases and three recoveries in the County of Vermilion River and one recovery in the MD of Wainwright.

Across Alberta, over 188,000 tests have been completed with 14,500 of them done in the Central zone.
