LGCC to re-open, health guideline changes in effect

The Lloydminster Golf and Curling Centre course is re-opening Friday, but in a more limited capacity to follow COVID-19 health guidelines.

Starting May 15th, residents will be able to partake in golf, but tee times will be spaced out, only one player will be allowed per cart unless they live together, not removing flagpoles and using raised cups. Payments will be taken over the phone, bar/beverage services will be closed and ball washers removed from the course. The driving range will also be closed for the time being.

The booking process will open at 9 AM on May 14th, and tee times will be staggered twenty minutes at a time until the 19th. After that, if all goes well, games will be staggered to 15 minutes between each. Walk-ons won’t be allowed for now.

Lloydminster EMO manager Jordan Newton says he’s confident players will be able to follow the guidelines and still enjoy the game, and that by following these steps they can continue to the re-opening process.
