No new COVID cases at Lloyd Hospital since May 7 : SHA

The Saskatchewan Health Authority says it’s been over a week since they’ve seen a new COVID-19 case at the Lloydminster Hospital.

An outbreak was declared on April 29th, after thirteen cases, comprised of five workers and eight patients, had been confirmed within the hospital at that time. With ongoing testing and contact tracing still being performed at the hospital, the SHA has seen no new cases in the cluster since May 7th.

Safety protocols remain in effect at the Lloydminster Hospital for the time being. Public Health and Medical Health Officers will continue the testing process, and visitors restrictions are still in place. COVID-19 patients will also still be put in a separate area of the hospital.

Key emergency department, emergency surgical and obstetrical services remain available at Lloydminster Hospital, but some non-emergency, non-COVID patients may be redirected to other medical facilities in the area.
