33 new COVID-19 cases in Alberta, no new deaths

Alberta continues to see the COVID-19 curve flatten as 33 new cases were confirmed in the province.

There were no new cases in the AHS Central zone and all cases in the County of Vermilion River and the MD of Wainwright have recovered.

The total number of cases in the province is now 6,716 with 1,004 currently listed as active. There are 61 people being treated in hospitals with 8 of them currently in intensive care. About 87 per cent of cases have recovered from COVID-19.

No new deaths were reported in the latest update (May 19).

Just under 219,000 tests have been completed since the onset of the pandemic.
