Lloydminster RCMP conduct National Impaired Driving Awareness and Enforcement Day

Lloydminster RCMP are participating in National Impaired Driving Awareness and Enforcement Day on Friday, December 4.

The day has been declared in alignment with National Safe Driving Week, which runs from December 1-7. This the 7th time the RCMP have conducted the campaign, taking impaired drivers off the roads and raising awareness about the dangers of driving while drunk or high.

“Impaired driving is a priority for the Lloydminster RCMP,” said Constable Grant Kirzinger. “The devastation caused by impaired driving is completely preventable and we hope, through campaigns like this, to eliminate impaired driving in Lloydminster.”

Since starting the initiative, more than 345,000 vehicles have passed through RCMP check points, yielding over 2,500 penalties against impaired drivers.
