North Battleford fire ban lifted

The City of North Battleford has lifted its fire ban.

The North Battleford Fire Department says favourable weather has created the ability to burn again, but no new fire permits will be issued. They say that this will be the case until COVID-19 physical distancing restrictions are lifted. Residents are told to wait to apply for a fire permit until then.

In the meantime, the fire department is warning caution while using an approved fire pit. This means watching for potential spark hazards and high winds, keeping an eye on fires at all times, having an adequate amount of water to put out or control a fire, and fully extinguishing the fire before leaving it.

People with questions are encouraged to get in touch with the North Battleford Fire Department.
