Two drivers ticketed for excessive speeding near North Battleford

Saskatchewan RCMP has issued tickets to two young drivers for excessive speeding near North Battleford.

The Saskatchewan RCMP North Battleford Traffic Services Unit caught a vehicle driving 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on May 29 at around 6 p.m. The 19-year-old driver was issued a $820 ticket for driving 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.

The next day at around 6:30 p.m., police caught another vehicle driving 136 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The 17-year-old driver was issued a $865 ticket for driving 50 km/h over the posted speed limit. The driver had his license suspended for three days in Saskatchewan and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The RCMP encourages anyone who witnesses impaired or aggressive driving to call their local police detachment or 9-1-1.
