UPDATE: Three dead in North Battleford house fire

UPDATE: The fire investigation is now a sudden death investigation. A 39-year-old mother and two children, a 7-year-old girl and 11 year-old boy, were found dead in the residence.

Officers are working to find the events that led to the fire and have brought in specialized investigators to help in the investigation. They will determine if the deaths were suspicious and will be looking at all circumstances leading to the fire.

RCMP are investigating the death on 101st Street to see if foul play was involved and an autopsy will be done at a later date to determine the cause of death.

At this point, RCMP do not believe the two incidents to be connected and are separate incidents. They say there will be an increased police presence on 99th Street and anyone with information on either incidents should call the detachment.

Battlefords RCMP are responding to two separate incidents and are advising residents to avoid parts of the city.

EMS responded to a call of an adult man who was not breathing at 12:28 p.m. Officers were called to investigate the sudden death in the 1400 block of 101st Street.

They also received a call of a house fire on the 1400 block of 99th at 2:29 p.m. Officers and firefighters remain on the scene.

RCMP say it is too soon to tell if the incidents are related and a preliminary investigation shows no risk to public safety at this time.

Update: Battlefords RCMP has corrected the addresses related to these occurrences.
