Two men arrested for alleged drunk driving during road safety initiative

Two men have been arrested after allegedly being caught drunk driving during a June 20th road safety initiative.

The first was caught during a speeding vehicles initiative, south of North Battleford on Highway 4. The second, also on Highway 4, was stopped during an impaired driving ride check. Both men will appear in North Battleford’s Provincial Court on August 24th, 2020.

Two additional drivers received roadside suspensions, one for alcohol impairment and the other for drug impairment. In total, approximately 175 breathalyzer test requests were given out to drivers during the initiative.

Five vehicles in total were impounded, 23 warnings were given out and 39 traffic tickets were written during these road safety initiatives.
