Vista Radio announces success of Million Dollars for Charity Week

The following is a press release from Vista Radio.

Vista Radio with 41 radio stations broadcasting across 70 transmitters in three Provinces and the Northwest Territories, completed its second annual Million Dollars for Charity Week with an overall goal of generating one million dollars for local charities.

With all fundraising efforts focused on the week ending December 13, each Vista radio station selected its own local charity to support. Hometown charities from food banks to churches to hospital foundations to soup kitchens all were supported. Vista radio stations across the country and over 300 Vista radio staff gave of themselves to help families in the cities and towns in which they live. The response from our communities was heartfelt and overwhelming. We ended the week with donations in food, cash and toys totaling $1,222,000. An incredible total that will now go to work within the 41 charity groups Vista Radio worked with this year.

“This is the single most gratifying week of the year, I am so proud of our Vista family for their level of dedication to their communities” said Geoff Poulton, President of Vista Radio.

“The entire Vista Radio team worked tirelessly to help thousands of families and individuals in their communities. They gave their time, energy and exhibited boundless passion to these wonderful local causes” said Murray Brookshaw, National Director of Programming.

We’d like to give thanks to our charity partners for their endless enthusiasm and to our communities that came out in droves to support us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

NOTE: The Lloydminster area raised $24,891 through their charity drive, The Goat’s Christmas Convoy.
