Lloydminster man arrested in Saskatoon, facing dangerous driving charges

A 31-year-old Lloydminster man has been arrested in Saskatoon after an early morning pursuit.

Police say the chase happened just after 2 AM on July 14th. They’d attempted to pull over the vehicle for a traffic stop on 8th Street East in Saskatoon.  After the car briefly stopped to let a passenger run out, it took off down 8th Street heading south out of the city. Members of the Air Support Unit followed the driver towards Dundurn before he turned around on Highway 11 back into Saskatoon.

A tire deflation device was deployed near Vic Boulevard, which damaged the tires. The vehicle drove on eastbound and then north on its rims before hitting a pothole on Herold Road and stopping. The driver was arrested on the scene. During a search, police allegedly found alcohol, a bag of Gabapentin pills and drug paraphernalia.

The Lloydminster man, who’s name has not been released by authorities, is facing preliminary charges of dangerous driving, evading police and breach of court conditions.
