North Battleford receives provincial funding for policing

The Government of Saskatchewan is providing $770,000 to fund seven existing North Battleford RCMP positions for the next year.

The funding comes from the Municipal Police Grants program through the Ministry of Corrections and Policing. The program supports enhanced community policing in an effort to ensuring safer communities.

“Community safety is a priority for our city and these enhanced positions are important to our strategies related to prolific and repeat offenders,” says North Battleford Mayor Ryan Bater.  “We are grateful for the continued support of the Government of Saskatchewan through this grant.”

The grant program supports 129 municipal police positions and policing initiatives across the province.
