Work to begin on 47, 48 Avenue Monday

The City is beginning work on another construction project July 20th, this time in the 47 and 48 Avenue area.

The areas affected by the work will be 47 Avenue from 40 Street to 41 Street and 40 Street from 47 Avenue to 48 Avenue.

Access to three intersections will be blocked as well, including 47 Avenue and 41 Street, 47 Avenue and 40 Street and 48 Avenue and 40 Street.

Rusway Construction crews will be rehabilitating underground services and rebuilding gutters and curbs. The road will then be resurfaced with asphalt.

Local traffic will be able to detour through the alleyways in the area, and the City says pedestrian access to the area will be minimally affected. Access to the fenced, off-leash dog park will still be open.

Drivers are told to obey all signs, and use caution when driving through a work zone. The construction job is expected to wrap in mid-October, weather permitting.
