Alberta COVID-19 active cases adjusted; one removed from Lloydminster, one active in County of Vermilion River

According to Alberta Health data, the active case reported in the City of Lloydminster has been removed and one case is active in the County of Vermilion River. The county now shows one active case and six recoveries.

There are now two active cases in the MD of Wainwright, three active cases in the County of Two Hills and two active cases in Flagstaff County. There are also three active cases and five recoveries in Beaver County. There are 75 active cases in the Central zone.

The data is up-to-date as of end of day July 15, 2020.

While the Saskatchewan Health Authority is responsible for tracking cases in Lloydminster, Kerry Williamson with AHS says if a case was tested in an Alberta lab or that test was ordered by an Medical Officer of Health in Alberta, such cases would be reported to Alberta Health as part of Alberta’s COVID-19 case data.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw says 120 new cases were reported on Thursday from more than 8,200 tests completed. The provincial total of active cases now sits at 807, with 8,142 cases considered recovered.

Two COVID-19 related deaths were reported, one in the Edmonton zone and one in the South zone.
