Lloydminster RCMP investigating carjacking, shots fired

The Lloydminster RCMP says the investigation is ongoing into a carjacking Wednesday afternoon.

Just before 6 PM on the 29th, police were called about an alleged stolen car headed from Saskatchewan into Alberta via Lloydminster. This vehicle crashed on 45 Avenue at 34 Street.

Police say several suspects exited the vehicle and ran on foot. During this escape, a suspect allegedly shot at a victim before stealing their truck. This victim suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The truck is described as a brown 2014 Ford-150 pick-up truck with Alberta license plate BSB 9726. It also has a “Sticks and Stones” decal on the back window.

The RCMP says they chased the truck east of Lloydminster, but the pursuit was called off after the suspect veered into oncoming westbound traffic. The truck was spotted by police again in Marshall, but once again the suspect fled before being arrested.

The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of the RCMP Forensic Unit.  According to an update  on Saskatchewan RCMP social media, the suspects in this incident have been located and are in police custody.

The RCMP says updates are to come when they are available.
