NewsTwo men face charges for parental abduction in Unity SHARE ON: Nikita Ganovicheff, contributor, Friday, Jul. 31st, 2020 (supplied by RCMP)Two men are facing charges in relation to a parental abduction and potential Amber Alert in Unity.Three children were taken from their mother’s home by their father and his brother on July 28 at around 5 p.m. Unity RCMP were called to the home, gathered details and learned of the two and the truck they were driving.Due to the details learned in the investigation, officers were concerned for the safety of the children and began the process of issuing an Amber Alert. Surrounding detachments were also notified of the abduction and the vehicle.Officers were able to locate the vehicle travelling south of Kyle along Highway 4. Both men were arrested and the three children were found safe at a residence in Maidstone.The two men are facing charges of breaking and entering, abduction, uttering threats, assault and possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose.The names of the suspects were not given out to protect the privacy and identities of the children.Both are in custody and will appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on August 6th.
