Saskatchewan breaks down COVID-19 maps, showing cases in municipal sub-regions

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has broken down their provincial COVID-19 numbers map again, placing Lloydminster, North Battleford and the surrounding region in its own section.

The map, which was previously broken down into six regions, is now in thirteen pieces, with Lloydminster and area being placed in the North-West zone. From there, a second map is also available, further breaking down these regions in 32 municipal sub-regions across Saskatchewan, with four in the Northwest. The province says this is to create a more clear picture of where COVID-19 cases are across the province.

There are seven cases in the Lloydminster and district subregion (north-west zone 2,) with no new cases in the last 24 hours. There are four new cases in the Battlefords zone, with one new in the last 24 hours. In Northwest region 1 (found below) there is one active case and in region three, there are ten active cases.

The Saskatchewan Government’s COVID dashboard, which marks active cases, recoveries, deaths and hospitalizations will only mark the previous six regions but will be updated to include the new areas online in the coming weeks.

Provincially, there are nine new cases of COVID-19, 14 total people in hospital and eight more recoveries. Of the 1,368 reported cases, 253 are considered active. Seven people are receiving in-patient care, two in Regina and five in Saskatoon.  A total of 1,097 people have recovered.
