Lloydminster to hear more about casino in city limits

The City of Lloydminster will be hearing more about the proposed Little Pine First Nation Casino in the new year.

During the summer, the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations voted in favour of building a casino in city limits under the Little Pine First Nation, but city hall announced that they had not been in consultation with the group.

In a recent council meeting, mayor Rob Saunders said that he met with CEO of the Battlefords Tribal Council Randy Wallace.

“I met with Mr. Randy Wallace from Little Pines First Nation for a future developments discussion,” said Saunders, on Monday, November 23.

The Meridian Booster reports that Wallace has said he will hold a press conference on the matter before the end of the first quarter of 2016.
