Northwest Zone drops to eight COVID-19 cases, Saskatchewan sees five more

The Northwest Zone of Saskatchewan has seen a case drop from their active COVID-19 totals.

The area that encompasses Lloydminster, The Battlefords and other surrounding towns is now at eight cases. Breaking this into subregions, The Lloydminster and district area is at two active confirmed cases. The Battlefords zone is at one case.

The area housing towns like Cut Knife, Unity and Wilkie is showing one less case and is now at four confirmed. The region including towns in the St.Walburg and Turtleford area has one confirmed case as well. None of these areas has confirmed new cases in the last day.

Across Saskatchewan, five new cases were confirmed, along with eight recoveries. Three were found in Regina, one in Saskatoon and the other in the South Central Region.

Thirteen people remain in hospital across Saskatchewan.  Eight are receiving inpatient care, made up of three in Saskatoon, one in Regina, three in the South West and one in South Central.  Five people are in intensive care, including three in Saskatoon, one in the North Central region and one in the South West.

Of the 1,450 reported cases since the outbreak began, 165 are considered active.  A total of 1,265 people have recovered.
