One new COVID-19 case in NorthWest Zone, 29 across Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan health officials say the Northwest Zone has seen a new COVID-19 case, but cases have continued to drop.

According to the August 11th update, total active, confirmed cases now sit at seven in the area housing Lloydminster, The Battlefords and surrounding areas.

Looking at the four subregions, the Lloydminster and district region, Battlefords Zone and area holding St.Walburg and Turtleford are at one active, confirmed case each. The Cut Knife, Unity and Wilkie area is at four confirmed cases, with one new case in the last day.

Across the province, there have been 29 new confirmed cases. Seventeen of these are in Saskatoon, four are in Regina, four are in the southwest region and three more have been confirmed in the South Central Zone. Eleven of the new Saskatoon cases were found in a community living setting.

Eleven people remain in hospital across Saskatchewan. Six people are receiving inpatient care, three in Saskatoon, one in Regina, one in the South West and one in South Central. Five people are in intensive care, with three being in Saskatoon, one in the North Central region and one in the South West.

Of the 1,479 reported cases, 165 are considered active. A total of 1,294 people have recovered.
