Two men have been arrested and charged after Lloydminster and Saskatchewan RCMP executed a search warrant on the 400 block of 44th Street.
Police say the two men were involved in an ongoing investigation where a victim was allegedly assaulted and confined to the house before being able to flee. They say the incident was reported to them on July 30th.
RCMP then executed a search warrant on August 5th and found an unknown substance when they entered the house. Alberta RCMP Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement and Response team (CLEAR) was called in as a precaution.
Twenty-seven-year old Luke Dean and 37-year-old Jason Palsich, both of Lloydminster, were jointly charged with forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, robbery with a weapon and extortion.
Both were remanded into custody after a judicial hearing and are set to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on August 17th.
RCMP say the investigation is still ongoing.
