Saskatchewan government funds new RCMP positions in Meadow Lake
The city of Meadow Lake is receiving $770,000 from the Saskatchewan Government for targeted policing initiatives.
In an increased effort to keep Meadow Lake communities and families safe, the government is offering Municipal Police Grants that will fund 7 Meadow Lake RCMP Officer positions.
“For the Government of Saskatchewan, community and public safety continue to be one of our top priorities,” Minister responsible for Immigration, Jobs, Skills and Training and Meadow Lake MLA Jeremy Harrison said on behalf of Corrections and Policing Minister Christine Tell. “The Municipal Police Grants allow the government of Saskatchewan to provide extra support to the RCMP in Meadow Lake.”
The grant fulfills the government’s commitment to providing 120 new police officers across the province and supports enhanced community policing in the areas of the city with chronic offenders, youth education programs, illegal drug activity, and issues of traffic safety.
