Lloydminster RCMP investigate two armed robberies

Lloydminster RCMP are investigating two armed robberies over the weekend.

In the morning of Saturday, December 19, the RCMP say a manĀ entered the Husky Gas Station on Highway 17 brandishing a knife and demanding money from the till. He has been described asĀ Caucasian, 5′ 5″, with a slim build, wearing black clothing and a facial covering.

The police have also confirmed that in the evening of Sunday, December 20, the Tropical Inn Liquor store was robbed at gunpoint. That suspect is described as 5′ 8″, withĀ a slim build, wearingĀ black pants with a grey hoodie,Ā dark toque and a facial covering.

TheĀ RCMP say it isĀ unclear if the two robberies are related.

“These are serious public safety issues, and there are people out there that are aware of who is committing these acts,” said Constable Grant Kirzinger.Ā  “Police are asking peopleĀ to come forward with information, wether they do so directly to police or through anonymous avenues such as Crime Stoppers, in order to help stop these dangerous events.”
