48 Avenue railway crossing closing for weekend maintenance

Lloydminster drivers are being advised of maintenance on the 48th Avenue railway crossing this weekend.

Through traffic in between 50th Street and 52nd Street will be closed starting at 6 p.m. on August 29th until 6 p.m. on August 31st. Construction is expected to wrap-up on Monday if weather allows.

The city and the Canadian National Railway will be removing the crossing surface, rails, ties and track ballast down to subgrade, before being rebuilt.

Drivers are reminded to follow all signage and drive carefully through construction zones.
