RCMP suspect foul play in death of Onion Lake man found outside of St. Walburg

St. Walburg RCMP is searching for any information after an Onion Lake man was found dead along a road north west of St. Walburg.

Mounties received a report of a body found along Range Road 3253 at around 11:40 a.m. on September 1st. RCMP and EMS confirmed the man’s death and identified him as 24-year-old Tyrell Shane Lee Littlewolfe from Onion Lake Cree Nation.

Next of kin were notified and an autopsy was scheduled in Saskatoon on September 3rd.

Multiple RCMP divisions assisted in an examination of the scene and a preliminary investigation has lead them to consider the death as suspicious and suspect foul play.

Police are asking anyone who was in contact with Littlewolfe between August 31st and September 1st to contact their local detachment. They can also drop off a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

RCMP say any information is valuable and can help police determine the reason for Littlewolfe’s death and identify those responsible.

The investigation is ongoing.
