Vermilion man arrested after stolen vehicle reported

A Vermilion man is facing several charges after RCMP executed a search warrant in connection to a stolen vehicle.

Vermilion RCMP received a report of an assault and a stolen vehicle in the late afternoon on September 7th. Police say the owner of a vehicle was assaulted when she confronted the man who stole her vehicle.

RCMP obtained a search warrant for the man’s home and recovered the vehicle. During the search, officers found a sawed off shotgun.

The 34-year-old Vermilion man is being charged with assault, two counts of possession of stolen property and two weapons charges.

The man remains in custody until his bail hearing in St. Paul Provincial Court.
