Fuel Good Day continues to support Lloydminster students

It’s time for Lloydminster drivers to fill up their gas tanks to support local students.

On September 15th, Lloydminster and District Co-op will be holding their fourth annual Fuel Good Day. Five cents off of every litre of gas sold that day will go towards both Lloydminster school division’s breakfast programs.

“There’s been great community support for those programs,” says Vice President of Operations Chase Scarf. “There are still families that utilize these breakfast programs and it’s an essential service to the community. We’re ecstatic to help raise funds.”

All Co-op Gas Bar locations in the city will be participating including the newly opened North Stop Co-op Gas Bar on Highway 17 north. Over the past three years, the event has raised over $24,000 for the breakfast programs.

“We just wanted to thank the community for the support over the past few years and we ask them to spread the word and let as many people know about Fuel Good Day.”

In the past, a charity barbecue would be held at the stations to support schools in surrounding communities such as Neilsburg, Marsden, Kitscoty and Lashburn. However, this years there will be no barbecues.

“Due to COVID-19 precautions, we won’t be having any additional fundraising on site, but we’re ready to welcome people at the pump.”

Fuel Good Day will be held on September 15th from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.
