Lloydminster tourism getting virtual spotlight

The City is hoping to encourage people to check out their own backyard as a tourism destination through a new video series.

Through a partnership with Discover Lloydminster, a new video series will have it’s debut episode Monday, September 28th. The videos will look at both indoor and outdoor tourism opportunities, both in the City or as close as an hour drive away. The videos will be available online both on the City’s Facebook and YouTube channels.

Mayor Gerald Aalbers says with COVID-19 restrictions continuing to limit international travel, this is an opportune time for residents to rediscover favourite attractions or activities in the area, that may have previously gone overlooked.

Discover Lloydminster looks to promote things like local shopping, eating and recreation to both residents and visitors. This project adds on to the detailed guide that gets put out every spring. A full copy of that guide can be downloaded on the City website.
