Holy Rosary High School, St. Joseph test negative for COVID-19

The Lloydminster Catholic School Division says two of their schools, Holy Rosary High School and St. Joseph Elementary, have had COVID-19 tests negative for their schools.

Over the Thanksgiving Weekend, both schools were put on an advisory after a visitor to the area, from outside the province, tested positive for COVID-19. The Area Lead Medical Officer of Health and the Public Health team put this advisory in place. While it still stands until October 20th as a precaution, the LCSD says COVID-19 tests relating to these two schools have come back negative.

In a statement posted online October 14th, LCSD Director of Education Nigel McCarthy acknowledged that parents have continued to be supportive by keeping students with COVID-19 symptoms at home, and says the advisory has reinforced how important this step is.

He also noted that the LCSD will continue to families informed should further health advisories or orders be announced, and thanked the SHA and Public Health for their work making sure precautions are taken for families, students and staff.
