Ecole St. Thomas, St.Mary’s students headed back to classes Monday

Grade two students at Ecole St. Thomas and grade sevens St.Mary’s Elementary School will be able to go back to physical classes Monday.

The classes were moved online from October 13th to October 16th as a precaution, after a confirmed one case of COVID-19 was found in each of these two classes. The Area Lead Medical Officer of Health has given the clearance to return to class on October 19th.

In an online statement, LCSD Director of Education Nigel McCarthy thanked parents for keeping kids at home when they’re sick and being ready and able to pick up their kids should they show signs of sickness at school, and says this process is instrumental in ensuring kids can come back to classes.

He also acknowledged the work of the  Saskatchewan Health Authority, Public Health and the LCSD team.
