Positive COVID-19 case found at E.S Laird Middle School

The Lloydminster Public School Division is advising the public that a positive COVID-19 case has been found at E.S Laird Middle School.

The case was identified on October 22nd by the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Communication has been shared with the community, and contact tracing has begun.

The LPSD says that in order to have time to conduct the contact tracing process, and prevent any other transmission to the community, classes will be cancelled on Friday, October 23rd. The school will be closed to the public.

Director of Education Todd Robinson says as an extra precaution, all classrooms and common areas will be cleaned and sanitized before students return.

Students and families care reminded to decrease the risk of COVID entering schools by doing daily health checks, staying home if sick, practice good hygiene, maintaining physical distancing and wearing a mask when appropriate.

The LPSD and E.S Laird Middle School Administration will communicate more information when it is available, with the support of the SHA and public health.
