Positive COVID-19 case confirmed at Winston Churchill School

The Lloydminster Public School Division has confirmed a COVID-19 positive case at Winston Churchill School.

In information released the evening of November 1st, the LPSD says they were advised by the Saskatchewan Health Authority  of a “positive case of COVID-19 in the community of Lloydminster which has impacted individuals at Winston Churchill Elementary School.”

Contact tracing by the SHA has begun, and the division says for the sake of privacy, they are not able to share or discuss details. Communication has been shared with the specific classes, as well as the school community.

In the meantime, in consultation with Public Health and to minimize the further risk of transmission within the school or community, Grade One classroom 301 and Grade 3 classroom 509 will be moved to online learning starting November 2nd. Those students will return to physical classrooms on November 16th, after the Fall Break.

The LPSD says they and Winston Churchill School Administration, with the support of Public Health and the SHA, will continue to communicate additional information as it becomes available.
