Lloydminster Drop-in Centre closes due to COVID exposure

The Drop-in Centre is closed after a person who tested positive for COVID-19 visited the centre sometime between November 19 and 21.

“We’re in full cooperation with the Saskatchewan Health Authority that any and all precautions that are required are being done. The staff and the people who access services have been doing really well with abiding by the guidelines as well as ensuring everyone’s safety overall. We’re very fortunate that we have a system in place where we’re able to be understood and supported as we are considered essential. We’re going to do anything and everything the health authority requests from us,” says Manager Riley Gilroyed.

Anyone who visited the centre during the days is asked to self-monitor for symptoms until December 5. Those who do develop symptoms should call HealthLine 8-1-1, their doctor or nurse practitioner to set-up testing.

According to the centre’s Facebook page, the facility will stay closed until given guidance by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
