NOVA Chemicals donated a specialized industrial fire truck to Lakeland College’s Vermilion campus. The truck will be used for live industrial scenario training, including skills maintenance courses and fire fundamentals, and brings the count of Lakeland’s fire fleet to 16, comprised of fire, aerial, and rescue vehicles.

“It’s a very big asset to the Emergency Training Centre that will allow our team to enhance the industrial fire training we offer.”
Based at the Vermilion campus, Lakeland’s Emergency Training Centre prepares firefighters and other emergency personnel to respond to all emergency events under any circumsttance. The college serves more than 1500 industrial contract students per year and for over 20 years, NOVA Chemicals has completed their industrial fire training with Lakeland at the Emergency Training Centre.
