SHA identifies another COVID-19 case at ES Laird, another classroom cohort required to self-isolate

The Lloydminster Public School Division says another COVID-19 case has been found at ES Laird, requiring one classroom cohort’s self-isolation to be extended, and one more to enter self-isolation.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority made the division aware of the case on December 3rd, and it was affecting “an individual in the 7B/7D cohort at E.S. Laird Middle School in Lloydminster.”

The LPSD says that Classroom 7D has been self-isolating since November 29th, and they will now have to until December 11th at midnight. Classroom 7B will also have to self isolate until December 11th at midnight as well.

Communication has been shared with the specific classrooms and cohorts, LPSD says, and no more details will be put out in order to protect privacy.

Students and families are also reminded to continue healthy habits like daily health screenings, staying home if ill, practising proper hand hygiene, maintaining physical distancing as much as possible, wearing a mask when appropriate.

If someone develops COVID-19 symptoms, they’re recommended to call HealthLine 811 for next steps and testing information.
