All people accounted for after weekend home fire in North Battleford

The North Battleford Fire Department say everyone is accounted for after a weekend house fire.

The department says they responded to a structure fire at a North Battleford home on the 1400 block of 101st Street just before 10:00 pm December 18th. When they got there, firefighters found signs of a working structure fire with heavy black smoke coming out of the roof.

Crews were able to make a successful first interior attack on the fire, containing it to just the upper level of the dwelling. However, due to many voids in the roof area, the fire department explains that extensive work was required to put the fire out, as it had caused an extension through the roof joist system.

Everyone in the home has been accounted for by the North Battleford Fire Department. At this time, they believe the fire was human-caused.
