Battlefords RCMP arrest prolific offenders, seize weapons and drugs

Two people known to Battlefords RCMP as prolific offenders are facing charges in an ongoing investigation.

Mounties say an off-duty officer noticed a suspicious vehicle parked at a gas station at about 6:45 p.m. on December 22. They then recognized the people inside as prolific offenders and contacted the detachment who located the vehicle.

The two people were found to have outstanding warrants and were arrest without incident. A search of the vehicle found a large amount of Canadian currency, bear spray, a loaded firearm and a large amount of suspected cocaine.

The vehicle was seized and charges are pending.
