Fire at Husky ethanol plant causes loud boom in Lloydminster

The source of a loud boom that stirred Lloydminster residents at around 10:30 p.m. on December 30 has been found.

Husky Energy Spokesperson Kim Guttormson confirms there was a fire at a dryer used at the ethanol plant which was quickly extinguished.

Guttormson says everyone was evacuated from the building and no one was injured. The ethanol plant will stay shut down as Husky undertakes a thorough investigation of the incident.
