City sweeping Highway 16 on Monday, collecting data throughout the week

Lloydminster drivers may experience some interruptions while heading down Highway 16 this week.

The city is conducting a road surface quality investigation and a street sweeper will be operating along 44th Street from 62nd Avenue to 75th Avenue on January 11th from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The sweeper will clear away debris along the highway which will allow for data collection the following days.

Workers will be collecting data outside of peak traffic hours from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. until the morning of January 14th. Data is being used to prepare the highway for the rehabilitation project scheduled this summer.

The city reminds drivers to allow for extra travel time, slow down when driving in construction zone and obey all signage, detours and barriers.
