Pedestrian hit by vehicle expected to make full recovery: Battlefords RCMP

A pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in North Battleford is expected to make a full recovery says Battlefords RCMP.

At around 7:50 p.m., the detachments received several 911 calls about the incident on Territorial Drive near the 8th Avenue intersection on January 19. Police say someone spotted a woman wearing all black pushing a bright yellow shopping cart on the northbound lane on Territorial Drive and called 911. While they were on the phone, a vehicle heading north hit the woman. The driver stayed on the scene.

RCMP and EMS arrived on the scene and shut down the road for several hours as they investigated. They determined the woman had serious but not life threatening injuries. She was flown to the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon for treatment.

While the investigation is still ongoing, RCMP have determined the driver will not face any charges.
