Lloydminster RCMP arrest two, recover stolen property

The Lloydminster RCMP says two people have been arrested after stolen property was recovered last Friday.

Police, on routine patrols January 15th, came across a suspicious vehicle in the 47 Street and 50 Avenue area. An investigation was able to determine that it was stolen. With the help of police dogs, the suspects were tracked to a nearby apartment building, where they were arrested still inside the vehicle.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers were able to allegedly find more items related to the stolen vehicle inside the suspect’s apartment.

As a result of this investigation, 24-year-old Jordan Lysohirka has been arrested on possession of property obtained by crime, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

41-year-old Dustin Meili is also facing charges, one count of disobeying a court order, and two counts of possession of controlled substances.

Lysohirka remains in custody and appeared in Alberta Provincial Court on January 19th, 2021. Meili was released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in Alberta Provincial Court on February 16th, 2021.
