Death linked to COVID-19 outbreak at Vermilion Health Centre

One person linked to the COVID-19 outbreak at the Vermilion Health Centre has passed away.

According to Alberta Health, the deceased was a man in his 80s, with the case including comorbidities. He passed away on January 28. They add a wide range of health conditions can be classified as a comorbidity.

It is the second-third COVID-19 related death recorded in the County of Vermilion River. The county has 32 active cases and 140 recoveries. The outbreak at the health centre is considered ongoing.

Across Alberta, 543 new cases from more than 11,000 tests and there are 594 people in hospital, including 110 in intensive care.
