ATV, trailers recovered in property search near Kitscoty

Kitscoty RCMP recovered several pieces of stolen property following a property search east of the village.

RCMP began a theft investigation in December and obtained a search warrant for the property. They searched the premises on February 5th and seized an ATV stolen from Barrhead in 2017, a utility trailer stolen from Eatonia in 2019 and a trailer stolen from Bashaw in 2016. RCMP also found ten guns, four generators and Canadian money.

Forty-two year-old Shane Wilson Slade from Blackfoot is facing seven counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 as well as two counts of improper storage of a firearm and three counts of altering a vehicle identification number.

Slade is scheduled to appear in court on April 20th.

Kitscoty RCMP encourages residents to call in to report suspicious activity to either their local detachment or Crime Stoppers.
