City official steps down

A Lloydminster City official is stepping down.

The City announced on Tuesday, January 19th, that Nicole Reiniger, the Director of Finance and Information Systems, would be resigning, effective February 5th.

Reiniger has worked for the City for just over 4 years, initially hired on as a Manager of Finance. City Manager, Glenn Carroll, said she will be missed at the City and wishes her success in the future.

“The highlight for me from working with the City is it’s been a huge learning opportunity for me and I’ve gotten to work with some excellent people here at the City. And I think that’s been the hardest part for me is realizing that I won’t be working with these people everyday,” says Reiniger.

There was a press conference at City Hall where Reiniger discussed her impromptu reason for leaving simply that she feels she needs to be with her family more at this time. Reiniger has a son and a daughter, ages 6 and 8, and she says she doesn’t have immediate plans for her next step, aside from family time.

During the interim, General Manager of Finance and Information Systems, Lisa Buchan will assume the role of Acting Director, starting Monday, January 25th until a replacement can be found.
