COVID-19 vaccinations open in Lloydminster for those over 70

Residents of Lloydminster over 70 can now book a COVID-19 vaccination appointment, as the SHA says space is available until Wednesday.

Appointments will be available from 9 AM to 4 PM locally, which people can book either online or over the phone. They will then be set up to get their first dose locally here in the City.

People are asked to use the online system first to save room on the phone line, and can ask a family member or someone they trust to help them set it up if need be. They should also only try to book if they meet eligibility.

The SHA is reminding people of a few important details before going to their appointment. This is a first dose, as seconds are not available until vaccine supply increase, the phone line will work on the same schedule as online and will not have more appointments.

People are not eligible for appointments if they are over 80 years old and have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 90 days, received any other vaccine in the last 14 days or a dose of COVID-19 vaccine previously elsewhere.

They’re also reminded that for the health of everyone, they should continue following all COVID-19 guidelines for the time being.

All Lloydminster residents, including those in Alberta, fall under the SHA plan.
