The husband of a Meota woman who died in hospital last year has been charged with first-degree murder.
Police say Cindy MacKay was transported to the hospital on February 7, 2020 and died there five days later. While she was being treated, health care professionals informed RCMP of some concerns which began an investigation.
Saskatchewan RCMP arrested her husband, 38-year-old Michael MacKay, in Warman on March 18, 2021. MacKay was charged with first-degree murder and will appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on March 19 via telephone.
